Power Showers

Having a power shower is a great addition to any bathroom and a perfect start to every morning. A power shower has a pump to ensure you get plenty of pressure and a powerful spray.

What is a Power Shower?

A power shower works by taking water from both the hot and cold supplies and mixing them together. This can be useful if your water pressure isn't as strong as you'd like it to be. Some power shower types have a built-in pump and some have the pump as a separate unit. A power shower is built to work with a plumbing system using gravity, where your cold water tank is in the loft and you have a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard.

A power shower is not able to work with a combi boiler or pressurised system. If you have a combi boiler you would still be able to have an electric power shower, which will still have plenty of pressure and a stable temperature if someone else ran the tap in another room. An electric power shower is also economical to run as they only heat the water that you need, as you need it, so you don't need to wait for the water to heat. An electric power shower ranges in power from 8.5kw to 10.5kw, the higher the wattage the more powerful the output of water, but the cheap power shower can still deliver a great water flow. As an electric power shower doesn't need to be connected to the hot water supply, only the cold water as it has its own heater built in it is ideal in ensuites or shower rooms.

Choosing your Power Shower

There are plenty of Mira power shower models to choose from, a Mira power shower can cost as little as £100.00 for a basic cheap power shower model, with the price rising according to the type of thermostat and other added features.
