XL Joinery Weather Strip

Even when your doors and windows are closed over time there can be gaps where the weather can still get through into your house and the heat can escape.

Weather stripping is a strip of material to cover a joint in a door or window making sure there are no gaps and to help protect from the cold breeze, snow and rain. The weather stripping is used to stop drafts coming into your house and helps to insulate your house and helps save you money on your energy bills during the winter months by keeping the heat in and stopping it from escaping.

When choosing your weather stripping it is important to make sure you have the correct type as there are many different materials available and that it is durable and can withstand the changes in temperature and the wear and tear of opening and closing the door or window. For your door you can get two types of door weather stripping there are the strips to go around the top and sides of the door and there are sweeps for the bottom of your door.

Before applying the door weatherstripping you will need to clean down the door frame to make sure that the adhesive is able to bond to the door frame properly so that it is fitted tightly to the frame ensuring the best fit to reduce any gaps and increased durability and lifespan as it is not getting caught in the door as it would if it was loose. Our door weather stripping is made from hard wearing rubber and comes in 6-metre lengths. There is information on our web page about the door weather stripping but if you require any further help or advice when looking at door weather stripping please speak to one of our online advisors who will be happy to give you further information to make sure you are happy with the finished product.
