Choosing your Fixings & Fasteners
If you are attaching everyday light and medium fixtures to internal solid walls we have a wide selection of plastic wall plugs, handily colour coded to help you choose the correct size. This is what you need if you are attaching things like pictures and mirrors, cabinets, shelves, boilers, radiators, and other light fixtures to solid masonry. If you need a heavy duty fixing to attach heavy fixtures such as fence posts, scaffolding, and radiator brackets, or items that need to withstand extra stresses and vibrations, such as safety and security equipment, or machinery we have expansion bolts in various sizes.
Our range of heavy duty fixings includes high quality, durable metal construction Rawl bolts so you can be confident your heavy fixtures will stay firmly in place. If you are attaching items to plasterboard, or to other cavity walls and soft faced walls we have both regular plasterboard fixings, and heavy duty plasterboard fixings. Our range of regular plasterboard fixings, for attaching light items such as pictures or mirrors, shelving, or decorations, includes specially designed self-drill plasterboard fixings. For use with the special screws included, they make their own hole in the plasterboard, then sit flush to the surface, where your wall isn’t suitable for drilling holes separately.
For attaching heavier items to plasterboard and cavity walls we also offer a range of removable and reusable interset cavity fixings. The metal segments of these tough and durable cavity fixings opens out as you insert the specially fitting screw to hold the fixing securing against the back face of the wall. If you want to work quickly when fitting frames, battens, wall lining, or cladding, to improve the look or insulation of your home we offer hammer fixings, or hammer-in fixings, of various sizes.
These hammer fixings can be hammered in to your wall, quicker to fix than wall fixings that need to be fitted with a screwdriver, but they can be screwed out easily if you need to remove them later on. If your job needs you to attach items to masonry that won’t support ordinary wall plugs and anchors because of instability of the substrate or because it would spoil the look of your wall we can supply resin fixings.
Our range includes economical polyester resin that fills the hole you drill in your wall, then hardens and bonds with the masonry to provide a high load bearing substrate that will support your screws and fixings. So for construction, building, and home improvement jobs of all types, and all sizes you can find what you need in our range of fixings and fasteners.
