What is Expanding Foam?

It\'s easy to see why Expanding Foam has become more popular than more traditional fibreglass or cellulose insulation. Expanding foam is easy and quick to install. You simply spray it into the cavity you want to fill and the insulating foam expands to up to 100 times its size to fill the gap. It then hardens as it cures to form an airtight seal (it is best done by professional tradesmen to ensure safety and correct application).

Expanding Foam is more efficient with a R value between 3.8 to 6.8 per inch, compared with 3.5 per inch for fibreglass, and 3 to 4 per inch for cellulose. It can then as much as halve your energy bill, in turn making your home more valuable. Expanding foam is permanent - it does not sag or shrink over time so should not need replacing or reapplying.
